Sulfur Strips

Sulfur strips for sanitizing and preserving wine barrels between fills. Burning a sulfur strip inside an empty barrel generates sulfur dioxide (SO2) gas that kills spoilage organisms and prevents oxidation, keeping the barrel in proper condition for reuse.

Place one sulfur strip in the barrel bung, light, and immediately reseal the barrel. Allow the SO2 to fully dissipate before refilling with wine. Use in a well-ventilated area — do not inhale SO2 fumes.
