Saaz Hops

Saaz is the famous aroma landrace variety originating in the Czech area of the same name. It is considered by many as the world standard for a fine noble aroma hop. Since 1952, Saaz has been cultivated into nine separate clones, the last being in 1993. Its exceptionally high Farnesene content (14–20%) and very low alpha give it a refined, complex character — the defining hop of Czech Pils and a cornerstone of the noble hop tradition worldwide.
