Magnum Hops
This high alpha variety was bred in 1980 at Hüll Hop Research Center in Germany. Hallertauer Magnum is known for its extremely large and heavy cones. It produces good yields, and like many of the Hüll varieties, Hallertauer Magnum has a high tolerance to disease. The hop is a daughter of U.S. Galena — and its clean, neutral bittering character with a subtle citrus and herbal aroma has made it one of the most widely used high-alpha bittering hops in both commercial and craft brewing worldwide.
