Citra® HBC 394 c.v. is a hop variety released in 2008 by the Hop Breeding Company (HBC). It possesses unique and highly favored flavor characteristics that have made it one of the most sought-after hops in modern craft brewing. Citra® originated from a cross between Hallertauer Mittelfrüh and a father derived from U.S. Tettnanger. Its intensely tropical and citrus-forward aroma — bursting with mango, grapefruit, and lime — has defined an era of hazy and juicy IPAs.
